UneeQ – Digital Humans For AI-powered Customer Experience
New Zealand Tech Roadshow Korea 2020 Testimonials
“The virtual New Zealand Tech Roadshow Korea has allowed us to strengthen relationships and establish new contacts, not only at the business level but also with the generous supporters and enablers, which includes teams from Priority One, MBIE Tauranga, Export NZ, the Christchurch Chamber of Commerce, Wellington Univentures, and many more,” said Lukas Beech, Kiwi Chamber Board Advisor. “I deeply appreciate the willingness of our friends to make additional time in their busy lives to assist their local companies and support our Tech Roadshow.”
The New Zealand Tech Roadshow Korea hosted by The Kiwi Chamber and the New Zealand Embassy in Seoul was instrumental in facilitating new partnerships between New Zealand and Korean tech firms. The week-long online event also received strong support from from Gyeonggi Province, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) and North Asia Cape.
“This year’s tech roadshow exceeded my expectations. I was very pleased to see around 60 attendees on opening day from tech companies, trade and non-commercial stakeholders from both countries,” said Mr. Beech. “We also had 13 New Zealand tech companies and over 30 Korean firms attend – a big step forward from our roadshow last year. The sky’s the limit for future tech events.”
To understand the value received by participating New Zealand firms in the Tech Roadshow, The Kiwi Chamber conducted online interviews of representatives from Kiwi companies to get their first hand experiences from the week-long series of virtual events, and highlight opportunities available in a Korean market ripe with potential.
For this interview, Mr. Beech talked to Nick Sokolich, Global VP of Sales at UneeQ – a Kiwi firm which is revolutionizing customer experiences with scalable digital humans. Mr. Sokolich explained UneeQ’s innovative digital human technology and how customers can utilize and integrate it, how his firm benefited from the Tech Roadshow, including two meetings he had with potential customers in Korea, and what the Korean market means for UneeQ’s strategy.
“Nick complimented our quick understanding of his needs and where UneeQ fits into the market,” said Mr. Beech. “He was also happy about the senior level of people with whom we were able to arrange meetings that were meaningful and promising.”

When asked about the value of attending the tech roadshow for Kiwi firms, Mr. Sokolich remarked, “Why wouldn’t you? Even though it may not fit into the narrow focus of a company’s market development plan, if a company decided to try and get access to the Korean market overview or even to speak with companies, it would be much more difficult and costly to do this without The Kiwi Chamber’s Tech Roadshow. I hope to visit in person at the next opportunity.”
In terms of where Korea features in UneeQ’s global priority list, Mr. Sokolich added, “From what I have heard, Korea seems like it would be a great market for digital humans. When you think of K-Pop and influencers and just the whole digital aspect of the country, it seems to lean toward what we do. We’ll just have to wait and see, but if we do start to get momentum then we’ll shift a lot of focus into that market for sure.”
